Position Description

Early Impressions Preschool & Childcare Site Directors are in charge of all day-to-day aspects of the program. This includes, but is not limited to, hiring staff, managing enrollment, and observing and overseeing of the daily activities within the program. The program is designed to offer parents and children a high-quality choice in early childhood education and care. It is an expectation of the Site Director to encourage and practice the items within the vision and mission statement of Early Impression Preschool & Childcare in every interaction with children, parents, employees and the community. The Site Director reports to the Executive Directors & CEO.

Position Responsibilities

• Create an environment where children and families feel safe and love coming to the site
• Work with other Site Directors and the Leadership Team to create a positive culture across the company
• Oversee all operations and procedures of the site
• Operate within an assigned budget for the site
• Order classroom, janitorial and food items as needed for the site
• Ensure that policies and procedures of Early Impressions are being followed along with appropriate forms of discipline
• Ensure all rules and regulations from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs are implemented and consistently adhered to
• Plan special school activities, back to school nights, end of the year celebration and holiday events with teaching team and create a school calendar
• Keep communication lines between his/herself and the staff, students and parents open at all times in order to build a collaborative environment
• Build, establish and maintain positive relationships in the community that support a diverse student population and the vision and mission of Early Impressions
• Be active in student development and care by being ware of changes the children are experiencing, keeping track of illnesses and by being present in all classrooms, providing support when needed
• Conduct tours and actively seek new students
• Supervise the daily responsibilities of teaching team members
• Train and observe teaching team members
• Perform annual performance reviews
• Seek out prospective teaching team members, conduct interviews and hire employees as needed
• All other duties as assigned, including some short distance and long distance travel when necessary

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or higher in closely related field– Required

At least 3 years of experience as a program director of an early childhood program.
At least 5 years of experience as a teacher in an early childhood setting also preferred.

Certified in CPR and First Aid (or willing to obtain within the first 30 days)

• Maintain a generally positive attitude
• Strong organizational, planning and implementation skills
• Knowledge of teacher evaluation and observation methods
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Work effectively with teaching team members
• Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions
• Meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the job

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Position Description

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) Associate Teacher is responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher in developing and implementing a program of activities that promotes the social, emotional and physical development of each child enrolled in accordance to the requirements of the GSRP grant. The duties and responsibilities will be carried out under the direction of the Lead Teacher.

Position Responsibilities

-Assist Lead Teacher in implement developmentally-appropriate instruction for children using research-based curriculum

-Follow the daily schedule as outlined in the curriculum and GSRP guidelines

-Conduct screening and ongoing assessment of children and provide age-appropriate instructional support

-Meet with Early Childhood Specialist as needed to ensure quality programming and maintain a high-level PQA rating

-Attend staff meetings, workshops, and other scheduled program activities as requested

-Work with individual and small groups of students

-Collaborate with the lead teacher in planning, team meetings, troubleshooting, and decision-making

-Assist with monitoring behavior and support the educational process in the classroom

-Participate in home visits with lead teacher to partner with parents to meet the educational needs of their children

-Organize and maintain records for grant and licensing purposes

-Create and update anecdotal records and portfolios for each child

Position Qualifications

Either degree is accepted:

-An associate’s degree in early childhood education or child development or the equivalent;

-A valid classroom CDA credential; or

-An existing 120 Hour approval.

-Preschool experience, especially with the Creative Curriculum, is preferred

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Criminal background clearance and DHHS clearance

-Negative TB test
