Position Description

Early Impressions Preschool & Childcare Site Directors are in charge of all day-to-day aspects of the program. This includes, but is not limited to, hiring staff, managing enrollment, and observing and overseeing of the daily activities within the program. The program is designed to offer parents and children a high-quality choice in early childhood education and care. It is an expectation of the Site Director to encourage and practice the items within the vision and mission statement of Early Impression Preschool & Childcare in every interaction with children, parents, employees and the community. The Site Director reports to the Executive Directors & CEO.

Position Responsibilities

• Create an environment where children and families feel safe and love coming to the site
• Work with other Site Directors and the Leadership Team to create a positive culture across the company
• Oversee all operations and procedures of the site
• Operate within an assigned budget for the site
• Order classroom, janitorial and food items as needed for the site
• Ensure that policies and procedures of Early Impressions are being followed along with appropriate forms of discipline
• Ensure all rules and regulations from the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs are implemented and consistently adhered to
• Plan special school activities, back to school nights, end of the year celebration and holiday events with teaching team and create a school calendar
• Keep communication lines between his/herself and the staff, students and parents open at all times in order to build a collaborative environment
• Build, establish and maintain positive relationships in the community that support a diverse student population and the vision and mission of Early Impressions
• Be active in student development and care by being ware of changes the children are experiencing, keeping track of illnesses and by being present in all classrooms, providing support when needed
• Conduct tours and actively seek new students
• Supervise the daily responsibilities of teaching team members
• Train and observe teaching team members
• Perform annual performance reviews
• Seek out prospective teaching team members, conduct interviews and hire employees as needed
• All other duties as assigned, including some short distance and long distance travel when necessary

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or higher in closely related field– Required

At least 3 years of experience as a program director of an early childhood program.
At least 5 years of experience as a teacher in an early childhood setting also preferred.

Certified in CPR and First Aid (or willing to obtain within the first 30 days)

Preferred Experience

• Maintain a generally positive attitude
• Strong organizational, planning and implementation skills
• Knowledge of teacher evaluation and observation methods
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Work effectively with teaching team members
• Ability to understand and follow complex oral and written instructions
• Meet attendance standards and work the hours necessary to perform the essential functions of the job

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary - $45,000-$60,000 (salary based on education level and type/quality of experience)

Early Impressions Preschool & Childcare Centers is looking to add Preschool Substitute Teachers to our team! Preschool Substitute Teachers will be called upon when teaching staff absences occur. The Preschool Substitute Teacher will support Early Impressions as needed across Jackson County at our 7 locations. This unique position will allow the candidate to work with all age groups we provide care for. Our centers are open from 6:00AM - 6:00 PM, assignments could happen anytime between these hours. Due to the inconsistency and potential of short-notice of assignments, this positions pays a premium wage depending on the set up of the position as agreed upon by the employer and the employee. This position may guarantee up to 36 hours per week, regardless of need for substitute teachers, position dependent.

Job Responsibilities:

• Support teaching staff to complete daily activities.
• Provide support to children in the classrooms placed in for substitute duty.
• Consistently adhere to the State of Michigan Childcare Licensing rules.
• Complete timesheet and submit to the Substitute Coordinator.
• Be available for assignments at short notice.
• Travel to sites as needed for assignments.

We are looking for experienced, dedicated and dynamic Lead Teachers for our Toddler and Preschool Programs. Lead Teachers are responsible for the overall operations of the classroom, including, but not limited to, implementing curriculum, health and safety, primary care groups, and parent communication.  Our management team prides itself on open communication and finding out what we can do to help our teachers be successful! Early Impressions provides support for the CDA program (Child Development Associate's Degree) and you will be lead teacher qualified in a matter of a few short months!
